Bio

From an early age it was clear to see that Ameka J. Wright was destined for greatness.  The child of two musicians and vocalist, Amekas mom recalls only being able to keep her quiet when the room was filled with music.  Once the music stopped, Ameka would begin to cry again! 

At the age of three Ameka J had her first experience on the piano and by the time she was five she was leading songs in the local church choir.  During her teens she developed a love for percussion and drums.  Her love for percussion continued into adult hood but would eventually lead her back to playing keys.  It was during the late 1990s that she developed her songwriting, arranging and music production skills.

By the end of 2005, Ameka J had written over 150 songs, produced music for various artists in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, performed in Europe for several venues, as well as wearing the hat of Musical Director for several successful stage plays at the Warner Theater and Lincoln Theater.  She is also the Lead Musician at her church in Temple Hills, MD.

In the Spring of 2006, Ameka was blessed to open Ameka J Productions which is located in Waldorf, MD.  Currently, Ameka J is working with independent artists and working hard to complete her debut album in 2007!
